Home for Tumaini Children Project Update

Image
Prayfully the new Home for our Tumaini Family We are imagining and praying that we will soon have enough monies donated for a good down on this piece of property for our new home.  We are negotiating with the owner and walking though all the legal steps. Which is a big deal here in Kenya because of all the things that may seem right that are not.  We have now accomplished the property's Value Report ( Apprasal ) and building inspection ( so that we can continue building on the existing buildings ).  The blue prints on these buildings were stamped when the buildings were started so we needed to have them oked and stamped again too, done!  Now we are needing a enviromental Impact Statement redone and see if we need to rezone to have a Children's home in the area. As we said lots of work to just get to the offer stage but God has met us at every step and we are praying that all will progress as He has planned. We have taken all the children in groups to see the ne

Seasons Greetings 2015 with a Surprise!

Seasons Greetings Dear Friends and Family We know this will be a different Christmas letter than we have ever written before but we believe it is all in God’s Perfect timing! Our Tumaini Children need a Home! We were told 2 years ago by the Kenyan authorities that we must have more living space for our family! We have been searching and we believe God has led us to a property that feels perfect. This one acre lot has electricity, water and a security wall already in place. It also has 2 buildings with 6700 sq. ft. of living space ready to be finished into one big Home! A donation of $50,000 (GBP 33,000) has been made but it needs to be matched in order for us to make an offer on this property.   The project to completion will cost an estimated $400,000 (GBP 265,500). Land prices in Kenya are rising rapidly and this place is reasonably priced in today’s market. Right now the dollar and GBP are high to the Shilling, which gives us more buying power. If

So happy to be back home in Kenya with our family at Tumaini! This will be short to begin with!  We have been on the run litteraly since returning to Kenya on July 11. We want to share with you all that has taken place and the blessings from God that have been poured out on our lives in the last 6 months since I wrote a blog but it will take time. Here is a fast update and some pictures.  In April we were invited to a 9 day trip to Porte Rico for som needed R & R before taking our daughter Troy back to the States to finish School.  It was an amazing trip with some super amazing people on their Catamaran named Mana. ( We love you Wayne & Emily ). Then on May 25 we headed for a week in the Uk and Wales to meet up with friends who are really family to us.  It was again such a Blessed and amazing 7 days.  Dad Horace and Mom Phyllis spent 3 nights at a B&B outside of Fishguard and spent their days visiting a Christian Retreat Center they had alwa

Dear Friends and Family of Tumaini Children’s Home. This is a year of change for all of us here at Tumaini and travel plans for Dad, Mom, Troy and Dannon.  This is the year our Big Sister Troyanna returns to the US to pursue what God has in mind for her, this will change all of our lives greatly.  Leaving our family here at Tumaini is hard for everyone. Not only is it hard emotionally but also financially!  We truly need your help dear friends and family! Our travels will begin in April, some friends have given Horace, Phyllis, Troy and Dannon a fully paid vacation trip for 9 days beginning on the 20th, so that we can spend some quality time together before Troy leaves. What a wonderful Blessing! Then at the end of May we will begin our trip to the US for 6 weeks. Travel is expensive in it’s self but leaving our home here compounds the regular expenses because we will have to pay many in advance or leave stored.  We are hoping God will lead you to help us

Family Update March 2015

A Tumaini family Update Tumaini Children's Home; Eldoret Kenya   www.tchkenya.com What a year, already we are seeing 2015 fly by at Tumaini,  God is working in so many ways, we are continually in a state of anticipation to see what he will do next! Earlier this year while participating in a study on Spiritual Warfare God spoke to Mom Phyllis this strategy.  "pray, listen, obey"!   This may sound quite simple to some and maybe too simple to others but I heard it loud and clear in my spirit.    I know that even with all the prophetic Father God is releasing about this year being a turnaround year and His intentions to fulfill many unfulfilled promises, it will not be a year with out spiritual warfare. It has been said of me and I know it to be true, I need to hear something more than once to put my faith in it as a WORD from God, so I have waited, but if you have followed the Prophetic that is being shared as we have, you have heard

2015 New Beginnings, The turn around year!

2015 What next Vision!  In September 2014 we began our 8th year of ministry in Kenya. In November 2014 while the Josh Leister family were in the states a prayer meeting was held to petition Heaven for "  what is next " for Tumain Children's Home and all of us representing "Family Keys International" in Kenya.  Family Keys International being our organisation that cover all actions of ministry done by the Leister family here in Kenya and beyond.   During the prayer time a word was received twice, Habakkuk 2:2  "Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it."  When discussed, it was felt that the vision for " Tumaini Children's Home" and all that God has intended here in Kenya for us Leisters needs to be written down and put out there so that all who read it can run with it.   Truly this is a big order and may not so easily be done but we will try to make it as clear as we can.  Fo
