Shining Light Pre-School's 1st Graduation

Image
On November 15th 2012 we Graduated our Top Class from Kindergarten to Primary.  We had three students who will be promoted to 1st grade Jewel, Sarah, Dama.  We are so proud of them!  After walking through their official evaluations the reports were fantastic and each were awarded their pass.       Gabriel will continue on with the Top Class 2013. Our very good friends and Pastors here in Kenya Nim & Prishilla Masu were here to join us in giving  encouraging words to the present and future students.      Several came to encourage and congratulate!       Pastor Nim shared from Proverbs 20:10 showing the children from God's word that even children are know by their good deeds.  The children really heard this word and repeated it to me later reminding me of what was said.    Shining Light Pre-School student body ( except Gabe, who wanted nothing to do with being a celebrity ).    Teacher Rose leading in

The last few weeks!

Hi everyone, we thought we would send you a smile today with our update on things happening here at Tumaini , God is so good! Our weather has been oddly cool and rainy which is great for the greenery, vegies and fruit but not so good for playing outside and puppy whelping.   With all the rain you would think water would be no problem but not the case here!  We have had a large growth of residents here in the Eldoret area, water has become a big problem, not enough city water to go around. Because of low water our 50 year old house has had some major problems.  Horace has changed out our major attic tank and numerous plumbing situations through out the house.  Needless to say we have been living a full African life with bucket baths and pritty much bucket everything!  Praise God we have been able to catch the rain water in our 2500 liter outdoor storage tank to fill the buckets!     Here are our Mana & Nala's new family of puppies!   Mom Nala had a

Introducing our sweet Baby Abagael ( Gael )         Gael was abandoned at the hospital, found just laying in the hall way.  She is estimated to be around 4 months. You would not know this by her size, Gael weighs 3.4 kgs and is only 19 inch tall.  She has had some breathing problems we think caused by allergies.              This was the greetings she received when she got home. All her brothers and sisters were so excited to see her.  Even her closest in age Thomas ( 17 months ), he just had to give her a kiss!            She is such a sweet baby!         And so loved!   Thank you everyone praying for Baby Abagael and all of us at Tumaini Children's Home where we are dedicated to building family and home!  Please continue to consider sponsoring one of our children, several are still available for sponsorship.  Complete monthly sponsorships are $150 but this can be shared between several sponsors.  We will keep you personal

Yep, and it just keeps getting better!

A continuing walk of Faith!           " Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.  By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible." Hebrews 11:1-3     We believe God is providing for us a good testimony here in Kenya!  We had some wonderful friends from the states come by Tumaini Children's Home this week. Ray & Geri Tucker, Linda Freeman & Rick Parsons came with this scripture and to pray with us and encourage us on our next step of faith.  At the beginning of October God opened a door of opportunity for us to purchase the land and house you see below.              The house has 7 bedrooms, 6 baths, large kitchen and dinning, large setting room exc... to say the least it is a house that will accommodate our growing family.  The house sits on

The Great Adventure Continues!

God is so faithful!   When God brings a close to something, we can count on, He has already prepared a opening to something else!  We can refer to these happenings as open and shut doors, windows, events or seasons, the important perspective we must have is expectation ( faith ) of our Father for the new thing!  He will always bring the new and distinguish it from the old!  Thank you Jesus!   We believe Tumaini Children's Home is continuing in transition and be apart of a Biblical crossing over into new beginnings, in this area.   These are two of many scriptures God has given us to confirm what we believe.     Isaiah 43:19 " For I am about to do a brand-new thing.  See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?  I will make a pathway through the wilderness for my people to come home.  I will create rivers for them in the desert!"   Revelation 3:8  " I  know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can shut.

Brighton a special miracle!

Our Brighton 2010 at 2 years, when we 1st received him from the hospital!  Brighton was left with symptoms of CP (cerebral palsy) after having a sever case of meningitis as a 1 year old.  He was abandoned by his mother.  When we received him the prognosis was very poor, he had been as we saw him for about 1 year.  Hands in fists, legs drawn up tight, neck bent exc...no speech.  Unable to sit or move around except to roll over when helped. God is so good!  Praise Him, Praise Him!  This is our Brighton now almost 4.  He is not only walking here, he is dancing with some worship music he likes.  Brighton is still working on the speech but he can say several different words and a couple of phrases like " want some more!" Brighton was never suppose to sit or eat by himself, or crawl or walk but he has done all these things and more because of the love of God pured out to him through our wonderful Kenyan family!  Brighton has a great therapist who ha
